Driver arrested after car rolls
A car which was being driven by a suspected drink driver was seriously damaged when it rolled over on a Tiverton road.
The accident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning near the Grand Western Canal Bridge, near Post Hill.
The vehicle had ended up on its driver’s side, facing towards Tiverton and partially blocking the Tiverton-bound carriageway.
Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the car, a green Vauxhall Corsa, was arrested.
Police remained on the scene until 6am, when a recovery vehicle arrived to remove the wreckage and clear glass and debris from the road.
Police said ice was not a factor in the incident as the road temperature was above freezing.
The diver, who was uninjured, has been bailed until April 13.
