Firefighters and coastguards worked together after a van driver "misjudged" a three point turn and ended up dangling over a harbour. The driver yesterday had reversed to the edge of the slipway in Paignton, and his back wheels had ended up going over the edge, a spokesman for Brixham Coastguard said. Two fire crews attended, along with a special rescue team from Plymouth. They used a winch to tow the vehicle to safety. A spokesman for Brixham Coastguard said: "He was trying to execute a three-point turn, but he misjudged it, and his back wheels went over the edge."
