Motorists and other road users in Brixham, Paignton and Torquay will have to find alternative routes as many roads will be closed during the work. The two areas which are due to be affected for the longest are on Goodrington Road, between Brixham Road junction and Grange Road, and Totnes Road, Paignton, between the zoo and Treenaway Cross.
Traffic lights are expected to be in place in Totnes Road as well as lane closures between October 1 and October 31. Goodrington Road is due to have road closures until September 15.

Councillor Robert Excell, Torbay Council’s Executive Lead for Transport, said: “This important work, costing about £750,000 forms part of our continuing investment in the Bay’s highway network.”
He said that although the works would require road closures and diversions, access to properties and businesses would be maintained where possible.
“The road closures and diversions will be clearly signed.
“Local people will be given advance notice.”
