Elderly pedestrian in critical condition after collision with car

A crash has left a pedestrian with serious injuries near Stover.

Police received the call shortly before 5.25pm. on Saturday reporting that a red Mazda 626 had been in collision with a pedestrian on the A382 between Churchills Roundabout and the Stover Vauxhall dealer at a private house called Whitehall Lodge.

The casualty, an 86-year-old man from Newton Abbot was taken to Derriford where he was described a critical.

The driver of the car, a 46-year-old woman from Bovey Tracey suffered no physical injuries.

It is believed that both parties were travelling towards Drumbridges when the accident happened.
