Torquay Utd's Elliot Benyon celebrates his goal
"It's great to be back, especially as I'm back where I enjoyed the best football of my career," said the 25-year-old, who scored 46 goals in three-and-a-half seasons for Torquay under former manager Paul Buckle.
Benyon helped the Gulls to regain Football League status in 2009 and formed a potent partnership with loan signing Scott Rendell, scoring 15 goals in 2009-10.

He had hit another 14 goals before Swindon Town paid £125,000 for him in January 2011. Things have not gone so well for him since – a loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers was hampered by a broken wrist, and his first-team chances have been limited since he signed for Southend in January 2012.
"Although it's two years ago, it seems like only yesterday that I left Torquay," said Benyon, who became a father 11 months ago.
"Driving down that motorway on Sunday night brought back a lot of memories.
"It's always nice to go to a club where you know a few of the players, and I played with six or seven of the lads here.
"I've been doing OK at Southend, but the strikers there have been in such good form that I just haven't got my chance this season.
"I've scored a few goals in the reserves, and I had 90 minutes in a game for them last Thursday.
"The more games I play, the fitter I'll become, but I'm confident that my fitness won't be an issue anyway.
"All I want to do is get some game time and score some goals for Torquay," the striker added.
Benyon also knows United's assistant manager Shaun Taylor – he was a youth-team player at Bristol City when Taylor was reserve-team boss at Ashton Gate in 2005.
"It has been a stop-start career for Elliot since he left here," Taylor said yesterday. "But everyone needs another go sometimes, and we've given him the platform to do it."
