AN EVENT-planning business that started just six months ago opens a shop on Sunday.

Tracy Walters launched the Perfect Package from her home in Lipson, but is now going to run it from a shop in Langham Place, St Judes.

The business supplies items, mainly for weddings, such as party favours, place cards, confetti, balloons and centre pieces, which can be hired.

Mrs Walters said the shop would allow her to display goods and said: "People can come in and speak to me in a comfortable environment. Previously I had to go to their house or a cafe."

Because she has a wedding to arrange for tomorrow, she decided to open the shop on Sunday.

"There will be Buck's Fizz, canapes and music on the day," she said.

Mrs Walters, aged 26, got the idea for the business when she planned her own wedding.

The other catalyst was being made redundant from her temporary admin job at a recruitment agency a year ago.

Having a five-year-old son she wanted to work from home.

Mrs Walters, who has a degree in HR management from Plymouth University, received help from Outset Plymouth and called the start-up support organisation "wonderful".

"They pushed me towards getting the shop, too," she said.

“All you need to decorate for a party is a collection of one long and two spherical balloons arranged in a hilarious representation of a meat and two veg.”

“Sweet diva dont point fingers, i am not 'a competitor trying to desroy her success' i was a GUEST at a party that was decorated to some of the worst standards ive seen. Im pretty sure if the 'wedding type planner' you talk about in the st maurice area seen the pictures i have she would not be worried at all... that is not competition!!”

“I recently ordered some balloons from this woman for a family event - the service was fantastic and I couldn't fault the speed in which she turned them around. They received brilliant comments from the guests and now have pride of place either side of the fireplace. We even had them customised which really made them stand out! Brilliant job The Perfect Package”

“It's so sad to see people trying to destroy others' successes. It would not surprise me if the negative comments were from another competitor who is fearing her success. Tracy did an absolutely outstanding job at my wedding. She was incredibly hard-working and attentive and with regards to her costs - I was actually wondering how she makes a profit as her costs are so low. She has also supplied and delivered balloon bouquets for me which have always been of very high standard and delivered to varying locations. Good luck Tracy you really deserve it.”

“I totally disagree with the comments by concerned_ply. I have had tracey decorate a venue for me for my daughter naming ceremony & have been a handful of other events where Tracey has supplied things and on every occasion the guests at each event have commented on how nice the room looked. Tracey provided many items and decorated the room for a friends wedding this month and she did a fabulous job. You only have to look at the many postive comments on her facebook page to see that she is good at what she does. Im not saying that everything she does or proivdes is perfect or to everyones taste but I think to say her prices/work is disgraceful is a bit harsh and uncalled for. You are doing great Tracey. Keep up the good work. Take heart from the postive comments and learn from the negatives. Good luck on Sunday. I cant wait to see the shop.”
