Former Exeter Cathedral dean, Richard Eyre, dies, aged 83
The former Dean of Exeter Cathedral, the Very Rev Richard Eyre, has died aged 83.
Richard was the Dean of Exeter Cathedral for 15 years, from 1981 to 1996. His funeral service will be held at the Cathedral on Thursday December 20 at 11. He is survived by his wife Anne, his two daughters and his five grandchildren.
The current dean of the cathedral, the Very Revd Jonathan Draper, said: "Richard will be sadly missed by many for his wisdom, sense of humour and his humanity. He was a lovely man who contributed an immense amount at a difficult time in the Cathedral's life."
