Three members of the Exeter Chiefs took on the challenge to bake and decorate 1,000 cup cakes to support this year's Red Nose Day.

Carl Rimmer and hookers Jack Yeandle and Chris Whitehead rose to the occasion. They baked Red Nose Day inspired cupcakes to encourage the people of Exeter to raise funds with their own baking skills on Friday March 15.

And after a morning's baking on Thursday with Exeter College catering students, including Emma Wakeley, Bertie Skinner, Fenella Gibson and Sam Passmore, the trio raced around town selling their wares to office staff. Funds will go to both Red Nose Day and Restart – the charity that supports ill and injured players.

Baking guru Mary Berry is leading the call for everyone to fundraise through their culinary efforts this Red Nose Day. She said: "Here's my secret ingredient for raising lots of money for Red Nose Day – get baking and invite your friends and colleagues to a cake sale, coffee morning or tea break and if you're looking for inspiration then pick up The Great Comic Relief Bake Off."
