Exeter pant thief sent to jail
An Exeter man has been jailed for stealing several sets of pants.
Karl Wayne Hake, 45, of Legion Way in Exeter, pleaded guilty to one charge of taking the pants, along with two sets of shoes, from the Peacocks store in the city.
He was given a four weeks prison sentence for the offence as magistrates said it was so serious due to it being premeditated and his previous convictions for dishonesty.
Hake was already subject to a 12 week suspended prison sentence for charges of thefts and an assault. Magistrates activated that meaning the total sentence given during his appearance at Central Devon Magistrates Court was 16 weeks.
