"When they arrived, Scott became aggressive. He threatened to throw an officer off a bridge and threatened to stab them."

He was then arrested.

Mr Winzer told the court that Scott has a number of previous convictions.

Robert Shaw, defending, said: "This was all rather silly and although his actions were intimidating, there was no physical contact.

"It was not premeditated and it was only a brief incident."

Scott received a conditional discharge for four weeks with a victim surcharge of £15.

Scott is also subject to separate proceedings relating to harassment which have been adjourned until January 25.
