Express is back on touring track
GET your skates on to snap up a ticket for the fastest show on stage.
Andrew Lloyd Webber's rock musical Starlight Express is back on tour terminating for a run at Torquay's Princess Theatre from January 15 until the 26.
One of the longest running musicals in West End history – with 7,461 performances at London's Apollo Victoria over 18 years – the story was written by Lloyd Webber for his children and is about a youngster's dream when his toy train set comes alive.
Roller-skating actors race to become the fastest engine in the world with macho rocker Greaseball, and newcomer Electra - "the engine of the future" - battling it out. But Rusty the lovable rickety old steam train wins through for the heart of Pearl, the pretty observation car. Races are featured in spectacular 3D, bringing the audiences right into the spectacular action.

Electra is Mykal Rand who joined Starlight in 1987 and has performed in six different productions and has earned rave notices on this latest tour produced by Bill Kenwright. Also in the cast is Lothair Eaton who has played Poppa for more than a decade.
From Monday, January 7-12, dig out the naughty fishnets and stilettos and head to Torquay for Richard O'Brien's thoroughly outrageous, but fun, Rocky Horror Show.
