The Ecover Blue Mile begins from 8am today. Prize giving is from 1.45pm for the swim and 4pm for stand-up paddleboarders and kayakers. Events continue tomorrow with an aquatriathlon and more open water swimming.

Pirates and swashbuckling tales told by actors in dress and showing genuine treasure pulled up from the depths of Plymouth Sound. Artist in Residence today until September 18, 10am to 5.30pm, at Plymouth Arts Centre: Watch artist Stephen Eastaugh complete his new commission "Knot", a series based on the fabled work of William Hodges, who accompanied Captain James Cook in 1773.
