Firefighters in Devon and Somerset will no longer respond to automated fire alarms
Firefighters in Devon and Somerset will no longer respond to automatic fire alarms from non-residential properties during daylight hours, the service announced today.
Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is implementing a policy change to its response to automatic fire alarms in non-residential properties from November 1 this year.
The service will no longer attend automatic fire alarms for non-residential properties between the hours of 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday, unless there is a confirmed fire.
The service is advising businesses to undertake a review of their premises fire risk assessment and management plans and identify whether further action is required.
