Firefighters tackle hotel bedroom blaze
A hotel room at a golf complex in Okehampton was severely damaged in a fire today.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was called to Ashbury Golf Club, at Thorndon Cross, at 12.30pm. Two fire engines from Okehampton and another from Hatherleigh were sent to the incident.
Crews confirmed the fire had started within a second floor bedroom. Officers wearing breathing sets entered the building and used one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
The fire service said the bedroom was severely damaged by the blaze which had started accidentally. The cause is not known.
