A REINFORCED window in the clubhouse at Tiverton Town FC's Ladysmead ground will have to be replaced at an estimated cost of £100 after a break-in.

The burglary, captured on the club's CCTV, happened between 2.10am and 2.20am on Wednesday. A small number of alco-pops and beer bottles were taken in the break-in, including bottles of WKD, Smirnoff Ice and Budweiser.

The window which overlooks the pitch was specially made and reinforced so it would not shatter if hit by footballs.

CCTV images showed a burglar wearing white trainers smashing the window to gain entry to the clubhouse.

Vice-chairman Wally Burke said the club was "saddened and annoyed" by the damage. However, he said police were analysing prints which were left at the scene.

Anyone with information which could help with the investigation is asked to contact Tiverton CID using the new national police number 101.
