Fossil-free farming to be put into action
Work on an experimental farm, scheduled to last 40 years and help find a way to reduce on-farm energy bills, has been unveiled in Devon.
The Fossil Fuel Free Farming Project will be run by Bicton College with the Dartington Hall Trust at Parsonage Farm, Dartington, near Totnes. Paul Redmore, farm manager at Bicton, told an audience of 100 that the project, from 2014, aimed to be commercially viable, experimental, to protect and enhance the environment and to become an educational site. He said: "We need to get serious and to experiment and keep on experimenting."
