The new Plymouth School of Creative Arts has selected a site near the city's docks for its new campus.

The facility in Millbay is expected to open in September 2014, subject to planning permission and final Government funding approval.

The venture is a free school backed by Plymouth College of Art and funded by the Department of Education. Dave Strudwick, headteacher designate, said: "Starting a brand new school in purpose-built facilities is an amazing opportunity for myself, staff, students and our community.

I'm looking forward to bringing this exciting venture to life."
