Fuel prize is a lift for commuters
DEVON drivers could win a free tank of petrol next month.
Devon County Council is launching the competition during national liftshare week which runs from October 1 to 5 and aims to encourage people to sign up to www.careshare devon.com
Carsharedevon is a free service which allows people in Devon and across the South West to find others to share their journey, either taking turns with the driving, or giving someone a lift in exchange for a contribution to fuel costs.
It is commissioned by Devon County Council, in partnership with Plymouth and Torbay councils. Commuters who register with the website between October 1 and November 30 will be entered into the prize draw to win a tank of fuel up to the value of £100.

Councillor Stuart Hughes, Devon County Council cabinet member for highways and transportation, said the initiative would appeal to all drivers during the tough economic times.
He said: "Record prices at the pumps are really hitting drivers hard, so now more than ever it is important we encourage people to consider car sharing.
"With caresharedevon.com it's possible to halve your travel costs by sharing with just one other person, and if you find a couple of people to share with you will be getting your fuel cost down to about 46p a litre which is fantastic."
Liftshare, the carsharedevon software provider, is also running a network-wide competition, offering new and existing members the chance to win £250.
They will select at random someone who sends a 'request to share' message at some point between September 24 and October 7.
