Memorial garden tribute to brave Katie, aged eight
A MEMORIAL garden has been created to remember the life of an eight-year-old who battled against a devastating disease.
Katie Oxenham-Jubb, of Plympton, was diagnosed with incurable cell and lung disorders in April 2011 and died at home in September 2011.
Now a garden covered in pink and orange flowers to remember Katie's favourite colours has been created in her memory at her school, Woodford Primary School.
There is also a chair where children can read to remember Katie's love for stories.

Carol Woodward, headteacher of Woodford Primary School, said: "This last year pupils, staff and the community have been busy raising funds to create a
memorial garden for Katie.
"With the help of Katie's parents, Rachel and Shaun Williamson, and their firm Sodexo sending volunteer helpers throughout the summer holidays, the garden is ready to open."
Katie passed away on September 4, 2011, not before her family pulled out all the stops to fulfil three of her dreams, to visit Disneyland, be a zoo keeper for a day and to meet her favourite CBeebies character Mister Maker.
Altogether 420 pupils from the school were involved in raising funds for the garden, which included sponsored walks, raffles and school fairs.
Parents, Scouts, Guides, Beavers, Royal Marines and a number of other volunteers also got involved to make the garden a reality.
Carol continued: "It's been a good community project and it's a great space in the school to be used as a quiet area for quiet reflection."
Rachel and Shaun Williamson were not only involved in the planning of the garden, but have also been hands on to make it a reality.
Katie's mum, Rachel Williamson, said: "I'm amazed at how it looks now. We decided to develop the old swimming pool area and it wasn't until we started that we realised how big it is!
"My company also asked if they could help and they have. So many people have been involved, it's been brilliant.
"Katie would have loved the garden and loved the chair we have bought for her.
"We'd like to thank everyone for putting it together, it really means the world to us."
Carol added: "It's absolutely fabulous and it looks lovely. It's a lasting memorial for Katie and lots of parents have been in because it's helped the community to grieve.
"She was a star and she gave a lot to the school so it's lovely that we've been able to give something back."
