A Devon gastropub is has been named as among the best in the UK.

The quality of the food served at The Masons Arms, Knowstone, near South Molton, has earned its place in the Budweiser Budvar Top 50 Gastropubs.

Leading pub industry magazine, the Publican’s Morning Advertiser, organised the scheme to recognise some of the best places to eat across the country.

Iand inustry experts, including food writers, celebrity and executive chefs, pub guide editors and operators of other gastropubs, all voted for The Masons Arms.

Rob Willcock, group editor of the morning advertiser, said: “The Masons Arms is an excellent gastropub and richly deserves its place among the top 50.

“It offers its diners fantastic quality food in the warm atmosphere of the pub and plays an important role in the community.”

The pub is run by Sarah and Mark Dodson, who is head chef.
