Geoffrey Cox MP for Torridge and West Devon visits Deep Moor landfill
THE MP for Torridge and West Devon visited a landfill site near Torrington earlier this month to see work being done to remedy concerns about odour, litter and asbestos.
During his visit Geoffrey Cox met representatives from the Environment Agency and from Devon Waste Management, which operate Deep Moor.
In response to concerns raised by residents living near the site over the disposal of asbestos, Mr Cox asked for specific information regarding this issue and viewed the asbestos processing.
He discussed the compliance of the site in terms of asbestos disposal with the Environment Agency.

Steve Hadley, managing director of Devon Waste Management, said: "We were pleased with the visit from Mr Cox and will be liaising with him more."
