Good Pub Guide award for winner of Masterchef: the Professionals
A Westcountry pub run by a former Masterchef winner has been chosen as one of the best in the country in this year's Good Pub Guide.
The Treby Arms in Sparkwell, near Plymouth, was named Devon Dining Pub of the Year by the guide, which was published yesterday.
The pub is run by Anton Piotrowski, joint winner of the BBC's 2012 series of Masterchef: the Professionals, and his wife Clare Piotrowski.
It's the Treby Arms first appearance in the guide, which described it as a "little village pub offering delicious food, real ales and a friendly welcome".

Mr Piotrowski, chef and licensee, said: "It's an amazing achievement, really good for all the staff to be rewarded for their hard work in this way".
The Cornwall Dining Pub of the Year title was awarded to the Victoria Inn, Perranunthnoe which is "well run" by Anna and Stewart Eddy.
Referred to as a "carefully furnished inn with a friendly welcome, local beers, interesting fresh food and seats in a pretty garden", the Victoria receives huge praise from the guide itself and all those who reviewed it on its behalf.
"We're absolutely chuffed to bits. It's fantastic; you don't apply, you just receive an award for doing what you do. It's wonderful news for the pub," said Mrs Eddy.
The guide, now publishing its 24th consecutive annual issue, contains descriptions and reviews of over 4,700 pubs across the UK, several hundred of which can be found in the Westcountry.
Somerset's Dining Pub of the Year was the Lord Poulett Arms at Hinton St George in South Somerset.
The guide's national Beer Pub of the Year title goes to the multi-award-winning Tom Cobley in Spreyton, Devon, while the Driftwood Spars at Trevaunance Cove in Cornwall was named among the top Ten Own-Brew Pubs.
Another award-winning establishment, Woods in Dulverton, Somerset, was named Wine Pub of the Year and one of the guide's Top Ten national pubs.
The Nobody In at Doddiscombeleigh in Devon was among the Top Ten wine and whisky pubs in the country.
Other notable entries were the Rugglestone Inn at Widecombe, Devon, and the Halfway House at Pitney, South Somerset (Top Ten unspoilt pubs), the Drake Manor Inn at Buckland Monachorum, Devon (Top Ten value pubs for food) and the Duke of York, Iddesleigh (Top Ten country pubs).
