GULLS BOSS Martin Ling was quick to slam stories that his old club Exeter City had only helped in efforts to keep last Saturday's Plainmoor derby on because they wanted to take advantage of Torquay United's injury/suspension problems. "It's absolutely first-class rubbish," said a clearly-annoyed Ling. "We are two clubs that get on very well, and we would have been very happy for the game to go ahead. It showed real unity between the two clubs, and people trying to cause mischief like this is totally out of order. If we had wanted the game to be called off, which we didn't, we wouldn't invite their ground-staff down to Plainmoor."
