Growth-focused renewables firm moves to Aerohub site
A renewables business has become the latest business to move onto the Aerohub Enterprise Zone at Newquay Cornwall Airport.
Ainscough Wind Energy Services, a subsidiary of Ainscough Cranes, is moving from its existing base in Newquay town centre onto the airport site.
Ainscough, which provides wind turbine erection and maintenance services, is moving to a larger site at the Aerohub with office and workshop space.
Initially occupying temporary buildings, Ainscough will develop a larger, bespoke unit later this year.

The business, which was founded as Windcon Energy Services in 2001, will use the site as a base for an expansion drive. It employs seven staff, with 100 field staff – with plans to recruit when its permanent base opens.

Aerohub is England's only aerospace focused Enterprise Zone. With a footprint of 280 acres, it is already home to AgustaWestland, British International Helicopters, Skybus, the Classic Aircraft Trust and The Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.
Cornwall's airport was named as one of 22 EZs announced in 2011 that are central to Government plans to drag Britain out of the economic doldrums by offering businesses an attractive proposition including a five-year business rate holiday, relaxed planning regulations and superfast broadband.
There are hopes that the site could eventually support around 1,000 jobs, developing into a major economic driver for the peninsula.
The Aerohub scheme is being led by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership and Cornwall Council. They have co-commissioned Cornwall Development Company, the Council's arms length development company, to deliver the Enterprise Zone project alongside Cornwall Airport Limited as the operator of the airport.
Stephen Rushworth, Cornwall Council's portfolio holder for economy and regeneration, said: "The arrival of Ainscough adds to a growing range of businesses on site."
