SHOOTING enthusiasts gathered at a city shop for an open day organised by a conservation society.

The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) event took place at the Sportsman Gun Centre, at Apple Lane, Sowton. Conservation expert and author Robin Marshall-Ball attended the event, together with representatives of several companies associated with the sport.

There was also a chance for visitors to the event to test guns on a marksman shooting simulator.

BASC and Help for Heroes were supported with a draw and the shop, one of the largest dedicated to shooting in Europe, offered some discounts for BASC members.
