Gypsy site bid
ELEVEN people have objected to fresh proposals to create a gypsy and traveller site on land near Willand.
Alan Hughes wants to change the use of land known as the Paddocks from agricultural to provide one gypsy and traveller site. It is the fourth application after others were rejected.
The plot is on a corner close to the Bradfield Manor house and former residential home and a hamlet of cottages on a stretch of the River Culm between Willand and Cullompton.
Objectors say the land regularly floods, there would be a danger to traffic if it were occupied, and noise would be created from the site in what is a rural location.
Uffculme Parish Council also opposes the application.
