Chris and Jill bought Seaway as a very small insurance brokerage in 1987.

Before that they had both worked within the industry, Chris for 23 years on the life, investment and pensions side and Jill as secretary to a director of a major Lloyds brokerage.

Since then Seaway has grown and they have clients in Scotland, Lancashire and Yorkshire, The Midlands, where they lived and worked for some years, East Anglia, London the South Coast and Bristol.

Chris said: "Because we work in a service industry, we try to provide a good service. Because we care about our clients, we believe we provide as good a service as is available across the country.

"We try to maintain individual contact with our clients and always go the extra mile.

"Existing clients matter. We still have the household insurance for our first client. And, with the exception of three who unfortunately have died and one who went elsewhere, we also still provide our services for all the clients that came with Seaway in 1987."
