Happy return to school for Olympian Jo Pavey
OLYMPIAN Jo Pavey was special guest at the King's School Sports Awards.
The former King's School pupil, who came seventh in both the 10,000m and 5,000m at the Olympics, helped present awards at the celebratory evening.

The evening celebrated the success, effort, progress, determination, sportsmanship and leadership skills of the students.
More than 50 awards were presented including the prestigious Jumbo Holmes award, which is awarded to the most outstanding senior sportsperson at the school. This year it went to former Year 12 pupil Mitch Abbott.

The Jumbo Holmes Cup was first presented to The King's School by the parents of Jumbo in the early Fifties in memory of their son. Jumbo was the first XV rugby captain and an accomplished athlete who tragically died after diving off the cliffs into the sea near Jacob's Ladder in Sidmouth.
Former pupil Mitch won the award for his skill and commitment to volleyball. Within six months of having a go at the game in Year 9, Mitch was selected for the South West under-15 squad, and later went on to be part of the England Cadet Development Squad becoming part of a group of 20 most-promising volleyball players in the country.
During this time, Mitch continued to play for the King's Volleyball Club, helping them achieve third place in the national under-15s tournament.
By the age of 16, Mitch had played in the under-18 national finals for Wessex Volleyball Club, and represented England South against international teams from Italy and the USA.
Kevin Moran, PE co-ordinator and East Devon School Games organiser, said: "Mitch has an amazing story which shouts of what is possible with determination and commitment."
