I WATCHED Lord Leveson deliver a summary of his report to a press conference shown on TV and I cheered.
In footballing terms he launched a defence-splitting pass of sublime quality, opening a glorious opportunity to achieve a result.
And what happened? The Prime Minister, wearing his boots on the wrong feet, stumbled about and shot weakly over the bar. Like the Green Army we were once again left shaking our heads in disbelief at yet another opportunity missed.
The Prime Minister sold the pass, and he has, I believe, sold it to the knights and belted Earls of the right wing press. The Tories are once again, in my opinion, putting their own political self interest before the interests of the public.
All is not yet lost, but I fear another no score draw is on the cards.
