They opened up with home wins against Stoke Damerel Community College (6-0) and Kingsbridge Community College (6-1).

After a 5-1 victory at Torquay Boys' Grammar School, Hele's triumphed 7-2 at home to Penryn School.

That was followed by a 4-3 win away to Tiverton High School in the last 32 round before they beat Cherwell School.
