BLOWN OVER: This photo shows the bizarre moment when a flagpole in Ilfracombe was blown over in high winds. The pole on Lantern Hill, which is owned by North Devon Council, was leaning over at an angle around 9.30am on Thursday, February 21 when Hillsborough Road resident Charmain Lovett snapped this picture. The council said high winds had managed to shear one of the fixing bolts at the base of the flagpole. The council has now taken the pole down to be repaired.
