A Devon-based holiday company has launched a campaign to raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

The campaign by Helpful Holidays, based in Chagford, will run throughout next year with all fundraising going directly to the charity.

It was launched by a two-day event hoped to raise £1,000 where people were asked to 'like' or 'share' the company's Facebook page.

Last year's campaign raised around £15,600 for Farms for City Children, which aims to provide experience of farm and countryside life for inner-city children.

Caroline Creer, fundraising director of Devon Air Ambulance Trust, said: "We are delighted to learn that we are once again the nominated charity for Helpful Holidays. They have supported us well over the years and have already raised over £16,300 for us.

"We understand they have an array of innovative fundraising ideas and activities planned for the coming year and wish them every success."

Two family members of the Helpful Holidays team were once rescued by the air ambulance. They both went on to make a full recovery.
