Holiday property acquisition campaign in the Bay
BLUE Chip Holidays is launching a new campaign to attract over 200 additional high end holiday homes to its books and is targeting people who live and work in the Bay.
The initiative is designed to keep up with rising customer demand and rewards new owners with their first month of bookings commission free.
Under the scheme all new four and five star properties that join and are live on its site before May 5 will be able to make up to ten bookings in their first month commission free.
With properties on Blue Chip Holidays' books taking up to £3,700 for a week in August, the business hopes this offer will prove attractive to owners looking to maximise their income in 2013.
The campaign is designed to reward owners who take action early in the season when bookings are at their highest. This in turn will enable the business to keep pace with demand, which in 2013 has already seen a 20 per cent increase in revenue compared to the same period of last year.
Commenting on the initiative Alan Taylor, managing director of Blue Chip Holidays, said: "More Brits than ever are looking to stay in high quality self catering holiday homes, and despite the poor weather of last year, 2013 is shaping up to be very healthily for bookings.
"Our research shows 41 per cent of people plan to take more UK-based holidays in 2013 than in 2012, largely because they perceive the UK offers better all round value. The Chancellor's decision to further increase Air Passenger Duty from April has also helped with well over a quarter of people (27.4 per cent) stating the government's increase in APD is the key reason for them not taking trips abroad."
Alan added: "The government's decision to further increase APD by 2.5 per cent on top of the eight per cent increase in April of 2012 is clearly leaving many travellers cold, and that plays into the hands of the south west.
"As many high-spec four and five-star properties can be booked for far less than their overseas equivalents, luxurious breaks in stunning Devon and Cornwall locations are proving increasingly enticing and that is being reflected in our booking numbers.
"With many two bedroom apartments earning over £30,000 a year and four bedroom houses earning in excess of £40,000, we hope the campaign will draw a lot of interest from owners looking to boost their income."
