Built in Helsinki, Finland, the Artania was previously called the Royal Princess. It was named by the late Princess Diana at Southampton in 1984. Later it was renamed Artemis by the actress Prunella Scales.
The ship has eight passenger desks, 594 cabins, seven bars, three restaurants, a spa, a cinema and 537 crew. Unusually, it has no inside cabins. It can cruise at 22 knots.
