Hustings will help voters choose Torbay's Conservative candidate
Four would-be MPs will go head to head at a Westcountry primary election next week as part of Tory plans to target Liberal Democrat seats in the next general election.
A Conservative shortlist of prospective parliamentary candidates to fight sitting Torbay MP Adrian Sanders was drawn up over the weekend and released yesterday.

Registered electors who register in advance will be entitled to vote at the hustings event at the resort's Palace Hotel next Monday. Torbay travel agent and councillor Chris Lewis will make his case alongside Plymouth lawyer Kevin Foster, currently a cabinet member at Coventry City Council.
Carleen Kelemen, director of the Convergence Partnership Office for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and Timothy Butcher, who lost to Labour in the general elections of 2001 and 2005 as a Conservative in Gillingham, Kent, make up the quartet.
