Hybrid car turns into fireball on A30 near Exeter
There were long delays for drivers on the A30 near Exeter after a hybrid car burst into flames.
Firefighters from Honiton and Ottery St Mary were called to tackle the burning vehicle, which was on the westbound carriageway between Patteson Cross and the Daisymount Junction.
The dual carriageway was closed while the crews got to work using compressed air foam and two sets of breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire, which started at around 11.10am on Wednesday, August 21.
Police and an ambulance also attended but the female driver was able to get out of the car before it was destroyed by flames.

Photographer Sebastian Turner, from Honiton, was among those caught up in the tailback.
"Traffic was queueing all the way down the dip and up the other side," he said. "You could see the flames coming up from quite far back. The car was completely burnt out."
