*PETER CAPALDI is likely to keep his Scottish accent when he stars as the Time Lord in Doctor Who.
STEVEN MOFFAT gave a few hints about the regeneration – The Thick Of It star takes over from MATT SMITH at Christmas – in Doctor Who magazine.
According to Doctor Who TV, he told the magazine that Peter’s Doctor would be an “older, trickier and fiercer” character
He said that he wanted an older actor to work as a contrast to Matt and previous incumbent DAVID TENNANT.
*CHLOE GRACE MORETZ has revealed that she kept her Kick-Ass costumes – so she can admire them.
The 16-year-old, who reprises her role as Mindy Macready and her potty-mouthed, nunchuk-wielding alter-ego Hit-Girl in Kick-Ass 2, admitted she has compared the outfits, but doesn’t wear them.
“I kept the whole costumes. Wearing it would be so weird. If I walked around the house, my mum would say, ‘What are you doing? Take it off’,” she said.
“It’s cute though because I have the old costume and the new one, and I lay them against each other. The old costume is like a baby – I think it’s so cute and so little.”
*RICKY GERVAIS has revealed plans to make a movie about his Office character David Brent.
The British comedian recently resurrected the former Wernham Hogg boss for Comic Relief, followed by of a series of YouTube videos titled Learn Guitar With David Brent.
Now Ricky has told The Hollywood Reporter he hopes they will be the basis for a movie about Brent trying to make it in the music industry.
He also confirmed to the magazine he is planning to sign a record deal for an album of music by his comedy alter-ego.
*WENTWORTH MILLER has come out as gay while declining an invite to a Russian film festival.
The Prison Break star, 41, wrote to St Petersburg International Film Festival director Maria Averbakh to say the Russian government’s attitude towards gay people meant he didn’t feel comfortable attending, reported E!
In his letter which was also posted on the GLAAD website, the English-born American actor said: “Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline.
“I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government. The situation is in no way acceptable, and I cannot in good conscience participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like myself are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly.”
He added: “If circumstances improve, I’ll be free to make a different choice.”
*SINITTA has said that The X Factor wouldn’t be the same if LOUIS WALSH left.
The former pop star, one of the show’s mentors, also joked that they would have to persuade Louis to stay, after he said that his time on the ITV programme could be up after the upcoming tenth season.
“I don’t think it would be the same without Louis because he’s been there since season one – he’s the only original judge – so it would be very odd. I think we’re going to have to talk to him,” she said.
Sinitta said that she is “involved behind the scenes” in the new series.
“You won’t be seeing me in any leaf dresses,” she quipped, referring to her revealing palm leaf outfit in 2009.
*JOHN MAYER has denied reports that his new duet with KATY PERRY is just a “gimmick”.
The real-life couple collaborate on the song Who You Love, which features on his new album Paradise Valley.
“When you first read the reports about it, you’ll think that it’s a gimmick. I love a good challenge and that’s certainly one,” he told Billboard.com.
“But the hope is you hear it once because of the curiosity and then you go, ’Wow, I really like that. I could find a place for hearing that a lot more’. The thing I love about my career the most is it’s not an attempt to be a blockbuster.”
