*JAMES FRANCO has insisted BEN AFFLECK will be a good Batman – and thinks the star should also direct the movie.
Argo star Ben will play the caped crusader in the upcoming Man Of Steel sequel, a controversial casting that has seen some critics complain he isn’t right for the part.
But James told E! News the backlash isn’t fair as Ben has shown what he can do.
“I think he’s proved himself now as both a director and an actor, but I will say he’s best in the movies he directs,” he said.
“Maybe he should direct it. I think he should direct it.”

He said: “I’m really excited to be involved in such a terrific new drama written by Peter Bowker. Also to be working alongside such an outstanding cast and crew. And of course to be back filming in my adopted home town of Manc!”
The three-part series will also star LIZ WHITE, BERNARD HILL, STEVEN MACKINTOSH, DANIEL RIGBY and MORVEN CHRISTIE.
*MILEY CYRUS has sparked speculation her romance with LIAM HEMSWORTH is on the rocks by “unfollowing” him on Twitter.
The We Can’t Stop singer and the Hunger Games actor have been at the centre of rumours for some time, but so far have kept quiet about their romance.
However, Miley seemed to be making something of a public statement when she took herself off the list of people following Liam on the social networking site.
E! News reported that Miley took the steps after a news story linked her fiance to Mad Men actress JANUARY JONES, a report that the actor’s representative insisted was “entirely fabricated”.
*WOODY ALLEN is to receive a prestigious award for filmmaking at the Golden Globes.
The Oscar-winner will be given the Cecil B DeMille award at the ceremony in January for his “phenomenal” contribution to cinema.
The news was announced by Theo Kingma, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
He said: “There is no one more worthy of this award than Woody Allen.
“His contributions to filmmaking have been phenomenal and he truly is an international treasure.”
He follows in the footsteps of stars such as JODIE FOSTER, MARTIN SCORSESE and STEVEN SPIELBERG who are all previous recipients of the award.

According to the Daily Mirror they decided to splash out £23,270 a week on a luxurious pad in Sydney.
