Owen Wilson has revealed that football and arguments are the key to fun family festivities.
Owen pondered his key Thanksgiving traditions at the Los Angeles premiere of new animated movie Free Birds, in which he voices a turkey who goes back in time to try to remove the birds from the traditional Thanksgiving menu.
The Texas native, who is brother to fellow actor Luke Wilson, said: “Football and arguing, nothing like a nice big family argument at Thanksgiving. In Dallas we always would have a football game and then my mother and my grandmother would team up to make a great Thanksgiving meal and pecan pie and stuffing and turkey and all the fixings.”
But he added his own cooking speciality was far less traditional: “Nachos, I will make some nachos that will blow your mind.”
Coronation Street actress
Paula Lane has revealed she is “relieved” that the truth about Kylie Platt’s baby is out, joking that she wouldn’t be able to keep up the pretence for longer.
David Platt has finally been unveiled as the father of wife Kylie’s baby daughter Lily. There had been speculation that his brother Nick Tilsley could have been the dad, following a one-night stand on Christmas Day.
But the family will have divided loyalties once they discover David knew about the fling, how he plotted revenge against Nick and how he was responsible for the crash that left his brother fighting for his life in hospital.
Paula, who plays Kylie, said: “It has all come to a head, and I am really relieved, because I couldn’t play being oblivious any longer to this sort of odd behaviour. I’m really pleased now because Kylie can be involved in all that drama that is going on.”
Tom Hanks has said he feels embarrassed at the fuss that has been made over him revealing he has Type 2 diabetes.
The Da Vinci Code actor told The Late Show With David Letterman last week about his health problems and at a London Film Festival press conference suggested it may have been linked to gaining and losing weight for film roles over the years.
Now, Tom has told The Guardian he feels a bit embarrassed by the media attention his diabetes discussion has drawn.
He said: “I’m sure there’s going to be some media scandal now, saying I got it because I gained and lost weight for movie parts or something. But I doubt that.
“It’s just the way I’ve been living since I was 13. I feel a little embarrassed that everyone’s asking about it now – I thought I was just saying the truth!”
Paloma Faith has been revealed to have been secretly married for four years, and is now divorced.
The Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful? singer got hitched when she was 23 to a chef from New Zealand called Rian Haynes, according to the Daily Mirror which claims to have seen the marriage certificate.
Paloma said in 2010 that she didn’t believe in marriage, but is thought to have filed for divorce in 2009 just after the release of her debut single Stone Cold Sober.
She and Rian apparently had their wedding at Hackney Town Hall in East London and were living together in a shared house with friends in the area, but after the divorce Rian returned to New Zealand.
In 2010, Paloma said: “I don’t ever want to get married. I don’t believe in it. It’s rubbish! I just don’t like the idea of feeling tied down and trapped.”
