Ilfracombe men found dead are named

TWO men who were found dead in Ilfracombe within four days of each other have been named by the coroner's office.

The body of Clive Brooks, 51, from Ilfracombe, was discovered on a beach at the foot of cliffs near Hillsborough at 2.20pm on September 17.

Emergency services were alerted when a member of the public found a pile of personal possessions and clothes towards the top of Hillsborough.

The body was recovered by an RNLI lifeboat.

On September 20 the body of Darren Fricker, 38, also from Ilfracombe, was found floating in the water just off Ilfracombe pier.

The body was discovered the captain of chartered fishing boat The Kingfisher and was recovered by the Coastguard.

Exeter and Greater Devon coroner's office opened inquests into both men's deaths on September 26.
