Inquest opened into death of 11-year-old schoolboy

The unexpected death of an 11-year-old schoolboy in his home is being investigated by police.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of George Hearne, following an incident at his home in Rydal Close, Estover, last Sunday.

Paramedics from the South West Ambulance Service were called to the family home at 6.03pm on December 2, arriving at the scene within one minute.

A post-mortem was carried out on Thursday at Great Ormond Street Hospital, in London.
