Instant result leaves overnighters jealous
NEWBARN regular Connor Netleton hooked a fish within five minutes of getting his bait in the water at the Paignton fishery.
Netleton hooked into a 24lb common carp and was the envy of the lake as none of the other four anglers had caught anything overnight!
Nick Solomon from Paignton had a nice mirror carp of 10lbs from a night session.
Scott Bryant had a 48-hour session and in the cold conditions managed to catch two mirrors of 12lbs 6ozs and 14lbs, followed by a common of 10lbs.
Bob Bartrum of Brixham had a busy day on Willow Pond with constant bites throughout his session. Bartrum used red maggots to give himself a 9lb bag of roach, rudd and perch. He reckons Willow has improved after some restocking earlier this year.
Night fisherman John Stanley had a single mirror carp of 14lbs 7ozs using a single fruity boilie.
Catch report lottery winner Peter Bull can collect his £10 voucher from the shop on his next visit. Bull's catch was a single mirror carp of 6lbs, using a white coconut boilie.
Baz Hoskins did well at the end of his night session with a 21lb mirror carp. Baz fished out of swim six and caught his carp under the trees near the aerator using a single-hook bait.
Mark Sampson, visiting from Derby. Mark had a great 24 hours with a total of nine carp wetting his unhooking mat. Queenie was his biggest at 28lbs and she was complimented by six other mirrors to 23lbs 1oz and two commons to 18lbs 5ozs.
WITH work parties busy all weekend, little fishing took place at Emperor Lakes in the South Hams.
The only reported captures were from the Day Ticket Lake, where Stewart Jones took a personal best mirror of 35lbs, along with commons of 17.01 and 14.03. Dean Channing took a mid-teen common.
An increasing number of anglers are fishing the general coarse pools. Good catches of mixed fish have been reported, with the best a catch of more than 50lbs taken on red maggot and sweetcorn.
