Ivybridge children's centre calls for more volunteers on its fourth birthday
A CHILDREN'S centre has used its fourth birthday celebrations to call for more volunteers.
The event marking the birthday of SeaMoor Children's Centre was opened by Ivybridge Town Mayor, Karen Pringle, who was involved with the initial setting up of the centre.
Cllr Pringle remarked how pleased she was to see the Ivybridge centre thriving and becoming "embedded in the community."
Families that use the centre joined the staff in face painting, playing games, telling stories, and balloon modelling. They also sat with the children to watch an entertainer.

Parents said the centre had offered them crucial support whether in learning more about breast feeding or how to communicate better with their youngsters
The centre is looking for volunteers to help it to continue its operations.
Karen Pearce, the centre leader, said: "There are a variety of volunteer roles within our four centres. These include supporting the play workers in stay and play sessions, assisting the admin teams, driving the play bus and fund raising in the local communities. Our volunteers are crucial to the services that we can provide and they are given comprehensive training and supervision following the action for children guidelines."
