Jazz singer Emily Wright heads to West Anstey and Buckland Brewer
EMILY Wright, will take to the stage in West Anstey and Buckland Brewer this weekend, joined by jazz band, The Royals. Emily has forged a unique niche in the South West jazz scene thanks to her rich vocalisation and flawless alto range.
Emily has a creative approach to jazz and her unique choice of repertoire and original arrangements make her a refreshingly individual performer. Performances have included sell-out concerts at Brecon, Oxford and Cheltenham jazz festivals as well as Glastonbury Festival, and venues all around the UK.
Led by Emily, The Royals are a fabulous jazz quartet. Previously of Sheelanagig and Moscow Drug Club, David Archer adds a touch of Django Reinhardt's gypsy jazz guitar to the band while Mike Willox's Erroll Garner inspired piano playing is a tour de force. Both these great musicians syncopate effortlessly with the bounce of Will Harris's double bass, ensuring the band is always toe-tappingly swinging.
