Jed Harper-Penman makes instant impact with Barnstaple after Plymouth Argyle release

The winger's swerving long-range shot gave Barum the lead in the derby with Ilfracombe Town at Mill Road last night.

It was not enough to prevent a 4-2 defeat but Harper-Penman has been quick to make an impression in a struggling side.
On Saturday, he scored twice from outside the penalty area in Barnstaple's 6-2 defeat against Brislington.

Harper-Penman signed for his home-town club after being released by Plymouth Argyle where he progressed through the youth ranks.
Tom Bulley, the Barnstaple manager, said: "I'm delighted to have him and the team are delighted as well.
"It is these sort of players you want to build a team around."
Barnstaple, who have lost nine consecutive games in the Toolstation Western League premier division, travel to Longwell Green Sports on Saturday.
