Jewel in the crown at risk
I AM writing to object to the planning application for wind
turbines at Davidstow in Cornwall.
As owner of Hamatethy Common, which includes Roughtor, I am
grief-stricken that anyone would want to ruin the whole of our
beautiful moors – they are the jewels in the crown for North
Cornwall.
We (the landowners and the commoners) have been forced to
give unlimited public access in the right to roam so that
everyone can enjoy the moors, and now they are about to be
destroyed for ever.
May I add that if Cornwall and planners allow this they will
have destroyed the heart of Cornwall for ever.

“'Tis sign of the times. Wind turbines are sensible in order to harness natural energy. It is a question of like it or lump it - but will they in any way decrease our fuel bills? I think not because the hungry fat cats and shareholders will always want their slice of the cake no matter how the hard up have to suffer!”
