John Sheridan sees a future for Plymouth Argyle's Andre Blackman on the left of midfield
MANAGER John Sheridan believes Andre Blackman can be an effective player for Argyle on the left of midfield.
The 22-year-old was signed on a short-term contract in July and started the first three competitive matches of the season at left-back.
However, his performances were poor and he dropped out of the team, with Sheridan signing a new left-back in Jamie Reckord on a three-month loan from League One outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.
Reckord made his debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round tie at Cheltenham Town on Tuesday night, which Argyle won 5-4 on penalties after a 3-3 draw in normal time.

Blackman was also recalled to the side to play on the left of midfield and put in a much-improved display.
He almost scored with the last kick of the match as he made a surging run from inside Argyle territory before shooting narrowly over the crossbar from 20 yards.
Sheridan told Herald Sport: "I thought Andre did well on Tuesday night.
"I played him further up the pitch and I think he has got that in his locker. He can get at people and he's a threat.
"It would have been a wonder goal had he scored in the last minute. His workrate was a lot better."
Sheridan would not be drawn on whether he had been disappointed by Blackman's previous performances.
He said: "I tell the players in the dressing room who I think is playing poorly or who could be doing better, I don't say that in the Press."
THE draw for the second round of the JPT will take place tomorrow morning on Soccer AM on Sky Sports 2. The ties will be played on the week commencing October 7.
