Johnson is glad to have brought Edwards back to Huish Park
Yeovil Town have completed the signing of Bristol City defender Joe Edwards on an 18-month contract.
Edwards, who previously enjoyed two loan spells at Huish Park, has now signed on a full-time basis and will be available for tomorrow's home game against Preston North End.
The 22-year-old was one of Yeovil's top performers while on loan earlier this season, making 16 appearances for the Glovers, who currently lie in eighth place in the npower League One table.
Yeovil manager Gary Johnson was delighted to have secured Edwards' signature and said that the amount of game-time the defender had received at Huish Park helped was key to the signing. Johnson said: "It's great news.

"Joe's a fantastic footballer, so it's an excellent signing for us and I'm really pleased.
"He has got first-team games under his belt for us, he has done well in his loan period and that has stuck with him in making the decision to come to us. It was funny timing with the manager going at City, but that manager [Derek McInnes] didn't give him games.
"That is what probably turned Joe's head, he knew he could get first-team games here for sure. I don't know what Bristol City were thinking but I knew what Joe was thinking and he wanted to come to us. We facilitated that deal so he could come here."
Johnson did not rule out any further signings in the January transfer window and said he was still looking to add to his squad. "There's another position that we need to strengthen, so we're looking to see if we can find someone else," he added.
"We've got a few days left in January, so there could be one more. We could find someone and I will go to the board.
"The board will have a good or bad argument, depending how we see it, but it is business and it won't stop me recommending someone. Credit to them, so far they've backed what I've brought in."
