Largest ship ever makes night time berth at Yelland Quay
THE Largest ship ever to dock at Yelland at night tied up at the jetty this weekend.
Baltiyskiy 202 berthed at Yelland Ouay at 4.40am on Saturday morning, making it the first, and largest, ship to ever berth at the jetty at night.

New privately laid buoyage at the jetty was "excellent and well placed," said pilot and Bideford harbourmaster Roger Hoad. Crow Point's light and Trinity House's South Crow Light Buoy were also a great help, he said.
"The night was clear, very dark with no moon, and a light to moderate North Westerly wind," said Roger.

"The ship will load her logs on Monday and likely sail on the Tuesday morning tide.
"The Russian crew, who have been regular visitors to Bideford, are planning to make use of the ship's two bicycles to visit Barnstaple and Instow."
The Helm and Crew on the pilot boat were Jon Pavitt and Thom Flaxman, while Jetty owner Paul Jury was also present.
A sand dredger is also due to deliver a load of building sand to Yelland Quay later in the week.
