Liane Harris and Petra Pinkhurst held their impressive form at the Hand Equestrian Centre, where they headed the Bath & West senior novice qualifier and secured the top ticket to the Scope Festival in the Blue Riband foxhunter.

The Crediton-based rider also clinched the 1.05m/1.10m handicap on her seasoned campaigner Bootylicious.

"I couldn't have had a better weekend," said Liane, who runs her own training, schooling and breaking yard.

"Both horses are in flying form and feeling good. Bootylicious is 16, but he acts like a four-year-old bucking and skipping. I'm cementing my partnership with Petra and feel it's really starting to come together, thanks to my trainer Justin Tuff."

Liane has her sights firmly set on producing a good performance at the Blue Chip championships. She enters the Tri-Zone Airlite Star final double-handed on Petra Pinkhurst and Bootylicous, while her mare also has a second chance to shine in the Blue Chip Karma championship.

"It's been a great start to the year and my next aim is to qualify Petra for the Bath & West Grade C final," she said. "I'm hoping to contest the bigger shows with her this year and consistently jump double clears in 1.30m classes. I'm trying to squeeze a lesson in with Justin before our next outing to keep us on track."

Liane bought her 15.2hh daughter of Stakkato from Adam Cove of Pro-Am Sports Horses.

"I bought her at the beginning of the summer season and spent a lot of time improving her flat work," said Liane. "I've had Bootylicious for ten years and he's now Grade B."

Remaining tickets to the Bath & West novice finals went to Claire Chambers (Wyoming II); Selina Elliott (Nozem II); Kirsty Pearce (Kamil D); Mackenzie Sanders (Parkview Quingender) and Rosie Fry (Another Breakfast); while Anna Edwards (Chesterfield Z); Justin Tuff (Alpino R); Zoe Reddan (F Vivace SZ) and David Reddan (Baba J) also qualified for the Blue Riband.

Okehampton-based Zoe Reddan also bagged the top ticket in the Scope 1m novice qualifier with Blizzard IV ahead of Liskeard's Maxine Enever and Isaac II, who also emerged with their passage to the 1.05m Adventurer finals.

Zoe held her form in the Smarter Builders National 1.15m Members Cup collecting qualification to the Scope Festival on F Vivace XZ where she will be joined by Andrew James (Darc Ory); Justin Tuff (Bacardi V Overis Z) and Claire Chambers (Wyoming II).

Jasmine Punter, of Chippenham, clinched victory in the Adventurer qualifier which saw her closest challenge coming from Sandra Manners and Coleen Curragh, while tickets also went to Maxine Enever (Isaac II), Laura Goswell (Amners Velvet) and Kaylie Perring (Franko V).
